While attending the Boston Architectural Center in the 1970's, Mark worked as; a freelance graphic designer; as a member of the team at a Cambridge architectural firm responsible for the design of Spaceship Earth at Disney's EPCOT Center; and as an art director with a Boston media design firm. After receiving his Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1982, he went to work for a Cambridge architectural firm as an architectural designer and worked on residential, corporate and commercial projects. As the economy slowed and the architectural community began to suffer, he and his team became Guarino Design Group, and incorporated as an independent design firm. At that time their work included corporate identity programs for Sheraton Hotels, and direct mail programs for more than a dozen PBS stations including WGBH, WNET and KCET.
Mark has overseen the growth and development of the firm as the industry has evolved and become technology driven. His responsibilities include design and administrative direction of the firm as he works with clients to explore and define project objectives.
